Cheap shoes -make ‘em yourself

I did a whole lot of shop design images for Betts & Betts and Perrini shoes. The shop fitout was easy, but then the client wanted the shelves stocked with shoes. As budget and time would not allow me to build several shoe designs in glorious 3D, I had to do the old cardboard cutout trick. Scan the shoe pictures from the catalogue, cut them out in Photoshop and stick the flat 2D cutouts on the shelves inside the 3D shop and make them always face the camera. As long as the camera doesn’t move too much, the illusion is sufficient.
